We offer biblical-based counseling for those clients seeking faith integration with their counseling. Some clients are hesitant to get counseling for fear they will receive counsel inconsistent with their Christian faith and beliefs. At Watershed Counseling, we have counselors that have obtained advanced Master’s and Doctorate level educational degrees in Christian Counseling.
Even with the strongest of faith we can struggle to find answers to problems, and at times need someone with thorough knowledge and understanding of the Bible to help guide us on the right path. The truth is, we all have problems and can learn from the experience of others who have experienced spiritual growth through adversity. It is at those times that an experienced counselor who understands how our Christian faith plays into the resolution of your problems can help.
We are ready to help you meet the demands of balancing your daily burdens with the blessing of your faith. While there is a focus on faith and spiritual integration at Watershed Counseling for those seeking biblical counseling, integration of faith is not required. We offer both biblical and non-religious counseling.
What’s the difference between Christian and Non-Religious Counseling?
The goal of counseling is to help people process what they are struggling with and overcome their challenges, to help them find purpose and happiness in life regardless of whether they do non-religious or Christian counseling. The main difference between non-religious and Christian counseling is non-religious counseling uses psychological principles and methods for achieving more positive outcomes; while Christian counseling intertwines Christ’s salvation and teachings along with the disciplines of psychology to promote both psychological and spiritual health. Christian counselors apply biblical teaching to the discussion and work towards a biblically based resolution to the problem.
