Who We Are
Watershed is a group counseling center serving families and individuals in the Montgomery County area. We have experienced, compassionate counselors to help you and your family discover new ways to live happier, healthier, more productive lives. We pride ourselves on being life-long learners, always working to expand our knowledge and grow in our expertise. At Watershed, we have a comfortable, welcoming environment where clients feel safe to explore, learn, and grow.
What We Do
Our compassionate counselors help you navigate those times when life doesn’t turn out quite how you expected. We walk with you on your journey through sadness, stress, anxiety, grief, recovery, depression and all the other tough emotions that might come your way. So whatever your situation, our goal is to help you find clarity, purpose, and strength. Through the therapy process, we will help you cultivate an unshakeable resiliency that you carry into every challenge you face.
As human beings, we all struggle. Healing is when these struggles no longer control you. If you’re feeling stuck and overwhelmed we welcome you in our center so our honest and trustworthy counselors can provide you with tools and guidance on how to move past the obstacles you are facing and into a better place. Whether you have your own challenges, are concerned about your teen or need help in marriage, we can work with you to move toward greater peace and a more balanced life.
Why We Do What We Do
We are so lucky to get to journey with such amazing people through gritty times in their lives and see them get to the other side where they overcome and thrive. What could be more amazing than to sit with a couple through relationship hardship and see their despair transform into passion, to watch a woman overcome a traumatic past and find peace and joy on the other end of it, to sit across from a man who is struggling to find his place at work and in the home then to hear him find success and a healthy balance with both. And how satisfying it is to help a teen or young adult who is struggling with difficult relationships or social pressures in school develop the skills and tools that lead to healthy relationships and boundaries. Life can be rough, we’ve seen it, we have experienced it. But on the other side of the hardship is a pretty extraordinary life.

Melissa Flood
Meet Our Afternoon Care Coordinator & IASIS MCN Certified Provider
Melissa Flood was born and raised in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and found her way to Montgomery in 2016. She has been married to her husband, Chris, for over 20 years, and they have raised their two teenagers in the Montgomery school district. She loves education; she has a Bachelor of Science in Health from Texas A&M University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Texas at Arlington, and a Master of Science in Health Care Administration from University of Texas at Arlington. She continues to expand her knowledge base, earning a certificate as an IASIS Certified Practitioner in January 2025.
Melissa began her professional career as a Registered Nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit where she stayed for 14 years. She then took on a remote position in the Medicare division of a large health insurance company for nearly 7 years. Having been introduced to Watershed Counseling Center as an IASIS microcurrent neurofeedback client, Melissa was fascinated by the science of neurofeedback and the extent to which she was impacted by the treatment personally. When the opportunity arose to work alongside Larisa and the counseling team as a neurofeedback provider, she jumped at the opportunity. Her role expanded to Care Coordinator a few months later, allowing her to leave the health insurance industry and fulfill her desire to serve and invest in her local community.

Sarah Hammond
Meet Our Morning Care Coordinator
Sarah Hammond was born and raised in the Spring, TX area but has called Montgomery home since 2013. She has been married to her husband, Nic, for 15 years and they are raising their two teenage boys in the Montgomery school district (Go Lions!).
Sarah attended Sam Houston State University where she graduated with her B.S. in Psychology. Spurred by a passion for working with older adults, she then attended Baylor University in Waco, TX where she received her M.S. in Gerontology. Sarah worked in the non-profit sector addressing the needs of older adults in the community until moving to College Station, TX and taking on the role of Traffic Safety Researcher with the Texas A&M Transportation Institute. It was at Texas A&M where she met her husband and after ten years of working to help make roads safer through cutting edge research, Sarah decided to stay home with her young children just as her family was transitioning to the Montgomery area.
In her free time, Sarah loves to volunteer with the local school district and her church home. She can regularly be found at the ball field cheering on her kids at their various sporting events. Sarah has a heart for people and is excited to be a part of the Watershed family.
